Here we go Batman fans. Five Batman titles will be on sale from DC Comics in November. At the start of what the publisher promises to be a very Bat-heavy weekend at New York Comic Con, DC's The Source blog released a series of five new house ads spotlighting the new Gotham lineup of books from creators including Grant Morrison, J.H. Williams III, Tony Daniel, Scott Snyder, Jock, Yanick Paquette, David FInch and Amy Reeder. Check them out after the jump.
In addition to these five titles, DC presently publishes "Batman & Robin," "Batman: Streets of Gotham," "Gotham City Sirens," "Red Robin" and "Batgirl," among other books featuring the Dark Knight or other Gotham-based characters.

Jim Lee & Brian Azzarello Launch BATMAN: EUROPA Miniseries in 2011
Normally, I am the first to jump on the "too many batman title" bandwagon, but I am going to make an exception for this little miniseries. The reasons why? It's a miniseries and Jim Lee, Brian Azzarello, and many other top-notch writers and artists are involved on the project.
From DC's The Source:
From DC's The Source:
Coming in January BATMAN: EUROPA, a four-issue mini-series written to gritty perfection by FIRST WAVE’s Brian Azzarello and Matteo Casali with an all-star cast of artists, including Giuseppe Camuncoli (who is handling layouts for the entire series!), Diego Latorre and Jock. With a first issue painted over Cammo’s layouts by none other than superstar artist and DC Comics Co-Publisher Jim Lee, who as you know, is no stranger to Batman. And if it involves Jim, you can guarantee it’s a major Batman tale.
In the pages of BATMAN: EUROPA, the impossible has happened – the Batman is on the brink of defeat, at the hands of a virus with no cure. Surely there’s someone that can help him? Well, there is – the Joker. Who infected Batman with the virus? What does the Joker have to do to save him? And how can it all happen before the Dark Knight collapses? Together, the unlikely teammates and arch-foes travel through Europe cobbling together clues while the clock ticks down. Here is the first cover from the series, by Jim Lee, and it is beautiful. I cannot wait to read this tale.

Jock's Cover to DETECTIVE COMICS #872 is a Gas!
I love Jock's work on SCALPED and GREEN ARROW YEAR ONE so I was very excited when DC announced that he would become the new artist on DETECTIVE COMICS.
AMERICAN VAMPIRE writer Scott Snyder and THE LOSERS artist Jock are going to turn this title into a Batman noir book. A gritty, dynamic and edgy visual representation," is how the new DETECTIVE COMICS creative team is describing their take on Batman.
The cover above is the second installment of “The Black Mirror” arc, in which “a series of brutal murders pushes Batman’s detective skills to the limit and forces him to confront one of Gotham City’s oldest evils.” DETECTIVE COMICS #872 is due in stores in December.

Batman Noir Arc Coming to Detective Comics
Batman noir? That's what the new team responsible for DC's flagship title DETECTIVE COMICS are telling us. "A gritty, dynamic and edgy visual representation," is how the new DETECTIVE COMICS creative team is describing their take on Batman. The new team consists of AMERICAN VAMPIRE writer Scott Snyder and THE LOSERS artist Jock.
As a Batman fan , I am extremely excited to begin reading Snyder and Jock's run on this book. It has been too long since we have had a Batman title that is more harden detective than campy superhero. Batman back to his roots. Now, that's refreshing.
