A 40-year-old Bangladeshi woman cut off a man's penis during an alleged attempted rape and took it to a police station as evidence, police in a remote part of Bangladesh said Monday.
The woman, a married mother of three, was attacked while she was sleeping in her shanty in Jhalakathi district, some 200 kilometres (120 miles) south of Dhaka, on Saturday night, officers said.
Isn’t a shanty a song? You know, argh, let’s be singing some sea shanties, matey.

On a slight humanitarian note, it’s sad people are still living like this. This picture is from a Shanty town in India. It’s just sort of amazing the difference between the ‘haves’ and the ‘have nots.’
"As he tried to rape her, the lady cut his penis off with a knife. She then wrapped up the penis in a piece of polythene and brought it to the Jhalakathi police station as evidence of the crime," police chief Abul Khaer told AFP.
Yeah, I’d have a knife handy too if I lived in a shanty. Shoot, I’d be sleeping with 60 knives, blade-out, surrounding my bed.
Though, I gotta ask, is it too hard to say “plastic?” Polythene makes it sound like it was something special, like she was trying to preserve it. I seriously doubt she cared about preserving it, at least not for his sake, anyway.
The woman has filed a case accusing the man -- who is also 40 and a married father of five -- of attempted rape, saying that he had been harassing her for six months.
Uhh, you think? After six months, he’s lucky that’s all she did.
The severed penis has been kept at the police station and the rape suspect was undergoing treatment in hospital.
What, did they put it in the fridge in the break room? How do you explain that to new employees?
“And this is the break room. Make sure you put your name on your lunch or someone is liable to eat it.”
“Uhhh, what is that?”
“It’s a trouser sausage. No worries, it’s just being kept in here for evidence until he heals up.”
"We shall arrest him once his condition gets better," Khaer added.
Well, since the severed penis is being kept in the fridge at the police station (no doubt having horrible things done to it when the police force is bored – and can you blame them?), he is obviously not going to have it reattached. No future in “uncut” porn videos for him.
Then again, he’s a father of five, it’s not like he really needs it anymore, he’s got more than enough kids. Of course, it does make you wonder how ticked off his wife is about all this. Knowing women, odds are she’s thrilled cause she wasn’t giving him any anyway, at least for the last six months. Karma. It’ll get you every time.
